3 Amazing Benefits of Having A Purpose in Life & How To Create Yours!
“Life is not about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself.”
I have been asked, “How do I find my purpose?” I have learned that purpose is not something you “find”. It’s about defining yourself, creating or developing what you already have. The first step is to stop trying to “find” your purpose and focus on defining, creating and developing your purpose. You must look within to understand what your purpose is.
Everyone has a purpose in life. Having a purpose is the reason for your existence, it gives you a reason to live or gives meaning to life. Why are you here? Why do you get up in the morning and go through the daily routines of life? What are the benefits to having a purpose?
- Brings Meaning and Fulfillment to Your Life. We all want to feel like our lives are not in vain. Understanding your purpose adds depth and meaning to your life. Spend every single day pursuing your hopes, dreams or what you passionately believe in. When you begin to live a life of purpose, you open yourself up to seeing, feeling and experiencing things that brings meaning and fulfillment.
- Gives You Automatic Clarity and Direction. A purpose is like a light bulb. When it is turned on, you can instantly see where you are going. A purpose is what lights you up! What make you come alive? What make you shine? What makes you, your best self? Ask yourself a few more questions, “Is the path I’m going in right now bringing me to where I want to be?” “What I’m doing right now, does it fit with who I am at the core (my values, beliefs, etc.)?” You must align your purpose with who you are, your values, beliefs, needs, abilities and desires. When you have a purpose, you will begin asking yourself, “Does this activity or these behaviors help me live in alignment with my purpose?
- Hones Your Skills. Once you define what your purpose is, you have to work on building those skills that you are passionate about. Having passion, clarity and direction alone is not enough. How can you develop this craft? You create your purpose by doing what you love step by step, little by little, day by day. Soon you will begin to live your life of purpose every single day.
The only way for you start living your life’s purpose is to stop trying to find it and start creating and living it. Look within, identify your purpose and live it to the fullest!
